Zander Carrie is an experienced trial attorney and associate at Polson & Polson Law Firm in Birmingham, AL. Before joining the firm, Zander worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Alabama’s 10th Judicial Circuit. He handled many serious felony charges including capital murder, child sex crimes, drug trafficking cases, and DUI fatalities. Zander gained valuable insights and knowledge from his time at the DA’s office which helps him advise and represent clients who fall under the threat of prosecution.

Zander attended the University of Alabama where he majored in English Literature, graduating cum laude with an honors thesis. He then received his Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Colorado-Boulder. While in graduate school, Zander decided his oral and written advocacy skills would be put to better use as a criminal defense lawyer. He graduated from the University of South Carolina’s School of Law in 2019 and immediately moved back to Birmingham to practice law as a trial attorney in his beloved hometown. Zander is a creative, zealous trial attorney who continues to refine his practice through further education. In March of 2024, Zander attended the nationally acclaimed “Trial Lawyers College” in Tulsa, Oklahoma, working with incredible lawyers and professional psychodramatists from across the country to develop new trial methods and techniques.

Zander is an active member of the Birmingham Bar Association and a graduate of the BBA’s 2023 Future Leaders Forum. He also sits as the current Social Chair for the Birmingham Bar’s Criminal Justice Section. Outside of the office and courtroom, Zander is a passionate soccer fan and advocate for the soccer community in Birmingham. He previously coached competitive teams at Homewood Soccer Club and holds numerous coaching licenses from the United States Soccer Federation.

In his free time, Zander enjoys running long-distance races, cooking at home for his family, watching all Crimson Tide sports, and reading novels written by his favorite author – Haruki Murakami. Zander and his family are members of Ascension Episcopal Church in Vestavia Hills.
